For those of you who don't know, I have about $150,000 in student loans. I spent 4 years at the University of Miami (with no financial aid) due to switching majors, and with one semester left the banks decided I couldn't have any more money. In all fairness, I don't know what gave them the idea I could pay back the money they already loaned me.
At this point, I had to transfer to UMass Lowell. I say I "had" to because I hate UMass. When I transferred, only 29 of my 100 credits came with me, essentially making
me a freshman again. I finally graduated a little over a year ago, and have had no luck finding a job, but not for lack of trying. I had
gotten a forbearance on my student loans, but that has ended and now I face monthly payments that are within $50 of my monthly salary. Needless
to say that with rent, utilities, etc. that this is a complete impossibility for me. I can get another forbearance, but this time it will
only be for three months, which is not much time given the economic climate.
It is only because of this desperate situation that I post the following in my blog:
Thank you all in advance, and I promise that next week will be full of updates.
Yes, since I'm putting this up here I will definitely make a point of getting my 4 weekly updates
